FUNERAL SERVICES FOR R.F. COUPER

Many Friends Gathered at Home to Express Sympathy and Pay Respect to Departed.
--------------------------------Robert Couper was born in Glasgow, Scotland, January 16, 1853. On July 3, 1924 he was stricken with paralysis and peacefully passed away July 15 at 11:10 A.M., at the age of 71 years, 6 months, never regaining consciousness.
On March 21, 1876 he was united in marriage to Miss Kate M. *Sheets of Beardstown, Ill., to which union were born eleven children. Five of them have preceded him in death. He is survived by four sisters, his widow and six sons, William A. Couper, of Sully, Iowa; George J. Couper, of Wallace, Idaho; Richard R. Couper of Grinnell, Harry E. Couper, of Missoula, Montana; Frank R. Couper, of Grinnell and Earnest L. Couper, of Grinnell. Richard and Earnest on the home place nine miles south of Grinnell. He is also survived by sixteen grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services were held at the home Thursday morning at 10 o'clock by Rev. C.A. Carman of the Baptist church. Burial was in *Rock Creek Cemetery.
Many friends gathered at the home to express their sympathy for the bereaved and pay their tribute of respect and love for one who has gone.
Bearers were Ed. Wilkinson, Pat McGinn, Joe Dexter, Charles Adkins, Joe Humbert and James Livezey.
