HARVEY COOMER RITES TUESDAY

Harvey "Jack" Coomer, 74, of Kellogg died Sunday morning at Skiff Memorial Hospital in Newton.

Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Wallace Funeral Home in Newton, with the Rev. Ann Estill officiating. Burial was at Our Silent City Cemetery, Kellogg.

The son of Elmer and Molly Burton Coomer, he was bon Sept. 26, 1906, in Wayne County, Ky. He was married to Violet C. Owens in 1931. Mr. Coomer had worked at Midwest Manufacturing Co. for 40 years, retiring in 1971.

He is survived by his wife, Violet; a son, Richard Harvey Coomer of Kellogg; a daughter, Helen Heckert of Des Moines; three grandchildren; a great-grandchild; four brothers, Odie of Monticello, Ky., Norman of Newton, Leonard of Greensburg, Ind., and Harley of Kellogg; and four sisters, Lula Burchett of Alamo, Ind., Lora Crider of Columbus, Ind., Dorothy Riggs of Monticello, Ky., and Orpha Kennedy of Columbus, Ind.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Kermit and Carl.

Memorials in Mr. Coomer's name may be made to the Jasper County Retarded Citizens Association and may be left at the Wallace Funeral Home.
