JAMES SEYMOUR DORAN

Tama Herald: James Seymour Doran was born in Bureau county, Ill., July 17, 1871, and died at his home in Toledo Thursday, Dec. 4, 1919, at the age of 48 years, 4 months and 17 days. When a small child with his parents and older brother and two sisters he came to Iowa, the family settling on a farm near Malcom. A few years later the family moved to a farm in Sheridan township, which the father had bought, and which was the family home for many years. Here James grew to manhood. He was united in marriage to Miss Christina A. Long, of Montour, April 25, 1900. Eleven children were born to them, all of whom survive the father with the exception of one daughter.

He is also survived by four brothers and two sisters as follows: John F., of this city; Edward H. of south Tama; Charles C., of Grinnell; Michael, whose home is in Missouri; Mrs. J.P. Enright,of Manchester, and Mrs. Kathryn Duffy, of this city. Mr. Doran had been in failing health for the past two years, and since September 1 had been confined to his home.

Funeral services were held at St. Patrick's church in this city at 10 o'clock Saturday morning. Rev. W.J. Baxter conducted the service.
