GEORGE DORAN RITES FRIDAY

Mass of Resurrection will be held at 10 a.m. tomorrow (Friday, July 25) for George Doran, 89, of Grinnell who died Monday evening, July 21, at the Senior Home in Montezuma.

The Rev. Leo V. Kuebrich, pastor of the church, will officiate at the mass.

Burial will be in Hazelwood Cemetery.

The Vigil Service will be held at 7:30 tonight at the Smith Funeral Home where friends may call.

The son of Capt. F.W. and Mary A. Patterson Doran, Mr. Doran was born June 21, 1886 in Wilton Junction. He attended the Wilton Junction public schools.

Mr. Doran married Amelia Esther Springmeier. The couple farmed near Wilton Junction. Mr. Doran moved to Grinnell in 1944. In Grinnell, Mr. Doran worked on the Edwin Parish farm until 1951 and then for John Barker until 1958. He was then employed at St. Francis Hospital as building and grounds maintenance man.

Survivors include seven children--Mrs. Fred (Mary) Peters of Muscatine, Edwin E. Doran of Rock Island, Ill., George F. Doran of Richardson, Texas, Mrs. Harvey (Helen ) Daufeldt of Muscatine, Mrs. Cy (Lorraine) McDowell of St. Petersburg, Fla., Paul C. Doran of Rock Island, Ill., and Mrs. William (Phyllis) Moomey of Ft. Pierce, Fla.; 35 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren, and one brother, Felix Doran of Wilton Junction.

Mr. Doran was preceded in death by his parents, two grandchildren, four brothers and three sisters.

Pallbearers will be John Barker, Francis Comerford, Harlan Dare, Leo Flanagan, Robert Hamilton and John Hotchkin.
