The Grinnell (IA) Herald; March 14, 1902

--Orrin B. Adams was born in Canada on the 22 of August, 1815, and moved to the United States in 1865 and settled in Illinois. Ten years later he moved with his family to the vicinity of Grinnell where he has since resided. The wife of his bosom died five years ago after a married life of fifty-seven years. To them five daughters were born, all of whom are living. Besides his children one brother and twenty-one grandchildren mourn their loss. He was a good citizen and neighbor and will be missed by all who knew him. He died Tuesday night and was laid at rest in Hazelwood cemetery yesterday afternoon at 2 o'clock the Rev. E.M. Vittum conducting the services.
