RITES HELD FOR HAZEL BARR

Hazel Irene Barr, 89, formerly of Grinnell, died late Wednesday, Aug. 4, at Mercy Hospital, Cedar Rapids, after a long illness.

Memorial services were conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday in the Janeba-Kuba Funeral Home in Cedar Rapids with the Rev. Paul Hasel officiating. Burial was at West Liberty Cemetery in Montezuma.

She was born in Searsboro Dec. 27, 1892, and resided in Grinnell from 1935 to 1960. She was married to Alex Barr in 1939. While a resident of Grinnell she was active in the Rebekah Lodge, the V.F.W. Auxiliary, the Spanish-American War Auxiliary and was a member of the Methodist Church.

She is survived by two sons, Bernyl L. Jackson, Longview, Texas, and Wilbur F. Jackson, Cedar Rapids; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Bonnie Windahl, Oskaloosa.
