MRS. J.C. GOODRICH

A Valuable And Useful Life Ends After Illness of But Few Weeks--Burial in Hazelwood.
------------------------------------

Harriett Law Kingdon was born December 21, 1867, at Stafford, New York. When she was three years old her parents, Mr. and Mrs. C.H. Kingdon moved to Grinnell and this has been her home since 1870, part of the time in Grinnell and part of the time on the farm. She received her education in the Grinnell schools and grew to womanhood loved by many friends for her quiet and womanly life.

December 31, 1885, she was married in Grinnell to Mr. J. Cass Goodrich. To them one daughter was born, Mrs. R.G. Hunter, now of Elkton, Minn.

After her marriage, Mr. and Mrs. Goodrich lived on the farm a few years when they moved to Grinnell and this has been their home since. Mrs. Goodrich was a quiet, modest woman of fine parts, cultured and educated and active in club work, and loved by all who knew her. After a short illness she passed away March 7, 1928, at the age of 60 years, 2 months and 16 days. To mourn her loss she leaves her husband and one daughter, her aged mother and two grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at the home Friday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, conducted by Rev. E.M. Vittum. Burial was in Hazelwood. Bearers were C.A. Blair, I.M. Harrington, Frank Marvin, Paul Meyers, H.W. Spaulding and George Hamlin.

Counted in years, Mrs. Goodrich's life was not long but her influence, usefulness and the memory of a kind and loving character will remain long in the minds of friends who lived here.
