LORAN LAIZURE

Loran W. "Pete" Laizure, 94, of St. Francis Manor died Wednesday, Nov. 13, at St. Francis.

Private family services were conducted Monday at St. Francis Manor, with the Rev. Raymond C. Lott, pastor of the Grinnell United Methodist Church, officiating. Following cremation, burial was in the Brooklyn Cemetery.

Memorials in Mr. Laizure's name may be made to St. Francis Manor.

The son of William and Hattie McDonald Laizure, he was born Aug. 1, 1897, in Winterset. He was raised on the family farm and attended school in Winterset.

He was married to Gladys Fraser March 11, 1932, in Des Moines. The couple lived in Des Moines where he was an insurance agent and real estate salesman. He retired in May 1959 and moved to Mesa, Ariz., and operated a gift shop at Apache Junction. Mr. and Mrs. Laizure moved to St. Francis Manor in June 1990.

He was a member of the United Methodist Church and the Elks Lodge.

He is survived by his wife, Gladys, and was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Robert and Burnell.
