--After about two weeks' illness, Joseph B. Furber died of dropsy at his home on Main street Sunday evening. The funeral was held from the house this afternoon at 2 o'clock, conducted by the Rev. W.P. Stoddard, and his remains interred in Hazelwood cemetery. Mr. Furber was born in Pittsfield, N.H., in June 1817, being 83 years old at the time of his death. In 1854 he was married to Elizabeth Johnson, with whom he moved immediately to Iowa. He leaves a wife and three children, Frank, Sarah and Fred. Mr. Furber has been a farmer most of his life and has made a success of his business, he has been noted for his strict honesty and integrity, his word was counted as good as his bond. He was a good husband and kind father.
