BERTHA ALANIZ MEMORIAL HELD

Bertha Lea Alaniz, 39, of Rte. 2, Searsboro, died Saturday, Aug. 3, at her home following a short illness.

A memorial service was conducted Aug. 6 at the Lynnville Friends Church, with the Rev. Kenneth Santee officiating. Burial was in the Friends Cemetery at Lynnville, with the Harden Funeral Home of New Sharon in charge of arrangements.

The daughter of Glenwood and Ruth Stanley, she was born Nov. 15, 1946, at Baldwin. She attended Lamont Community School and graduated from Starmont High School in 1965. She also attended the Pitzie School of Cosmetology in Waterloo.

She was married to Jesus (Jess) Alaniz in 1969. Mrs. Alaniz was employed at Barb's Beauty Shop in Lynnville.

She is survived by her son, Tony, a junior at Lynnville-Sully High School; her parents; one brother, Lewis of Searsboro; and three sisters, Louise Ortberg of Dubuque, Roberta Hoopes of Northbrook, Ill., and Lynne Watson of Waterloo.
