OBITUARY

MRS. E.P. BOMER

Ruth A. Searl was born at Princeton, Illinois, Feb. 21, 1863, and died of cancer, Thursday, Jan. 31, 1907. When but three years of age she removed with her parents to this county and made her home at Brooklyn until her marriage with E.P. Bomer, May 18, 1887.

Since marriage they have lived at a number of towns among them being Brooklyn, Belle Plaine and Des Moines and for the past three years have made their home west of this city. At an early she became a member of the M.E. church, but on removing to this city she joined the Congregational church and while health permitted was an active, earnest church worker.

Her final illness was a trying one, involving much pain, but she bore her sufferings with Christian fortitude and with the tenderness which had characterized her life. She leaves two sisters of her father's family, Mrs. Grace Cunningham of Brooklyn and Mrs. Millard of Kansas. Of her immediate family she leaves a bereaved husband, two sons and a daughter to mourn the loss of a loving wife and mother. One child died in infancy.

Brief services were held at her residence, Saturday morning, at ten o'clock, conducted by Prof. L.F. Parker. The remains were sent to the old home in Brooklyn in the afternoon for interment in the family lot.

The sympathy of this community goes out to the grief-stricken family who have lost so good a mother and wife from the home. In her social relations her neighbors and friends always found her kind, pleasant and efficient and she will be deeply missed by those who had come to know and appreciate her fine womanly qualities.
