HAZEL L. PESKA

Funeral services were held Friday morning, April 3, at St. John's Lutheran Church, Marengo, for Hazel L. Peska, 85, of Marengo, formerly of Victor and Hartwick. She died Wednesday, April 1, 1998, at the Marengo Memorial Hospital after a brief illness.

The Rev. Doug Morton officiated. Interment was in the Hartwick Cemetery, Hartwick. Honorary casket bearers were William Peska, Tom Peska and Tim Peska. Casket bearers were Steve Peska, Scott Peska, Mike Peska, Mark Peska, Duane Peska and Neil Peska.

Hazel LaVonne See was born Feb. 6, 1913, at Brookings, S.D., the daughter of Frank and Nancy Mae Narber See. She received her education and graduated from Palo High School in 1932 and married Albert Peska on June 27, 1933, at Hartwick.

The couple moved from the Hartwick area to Victor in 1969. While living in Victor, she worked at the Victorian Inn and the Victor Cafe. In 1984 she moved to Marengo. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Marengo.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert, on March 23, 1973, three brothers, Donald See, Gerald See and MoRelle See, and three grandchildren.

Survivors include four sons, Dale and his wife, Evelyn, of Marengo, Delbert and his wife, Cynthia, of Marengo, Dwaine and his wife, Carol, of Ladora, and David of Ladora; 15 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

Kloster-Valentine Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. A memorial fund has been established.
