HARTWICK RITES FOR STAHL WARNICK, 83

Stahl Warnick, 83, a Hartwick resident for many years, died Monday in a nursing home at Montezuma where he had lived for three and one-half years.

Funeral services were conducted March 30 at 2:00 p.m. at the McAninch Chapel in Victor with the Rev. Robert Cutbirth of Hartwick officiating. Mrs. Everett Korns was organist and accompanied Mrs. Calvin Korns singing,"The Old Rugged Cross" and "Going Down the Valley."

Interment was in the Hartwick cemetery with the following serving as pallbearers: Donald Johnston, Leo Warnick, Jr., John Wathers, Everett Williamson, Leon Davis and Don Williamson.

Phillip Stahl Warnick, son of Samuel and Margaret Warnick, was born in Pennsylvania Dec. 17, 1882, and died March 28, 1966.

He came to Iowa when a young man and settled in the Hartwick community where he operated a produce station as long as his health permitted.

July 13, 1907, he was married to Elsie Williamson of Belle Plaine by the Rev. J.O. Robinson in the Methodist church parsonage. Mrs. Warnick died October 25, 1963.

He is survived by two daughters and two sons: Mrs. George (Ortha) Streit of Merritt Island, Fla., Mrs. Lois Johnston of Cedar Rapids, Leo Warnick of Victor and Edwin Warnick of Newton. He also leaves nine grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife; a son, Clark; six brothers; and one sister.
