EVA COOPER, 74, DIES AT HOME

Mrs. Eva E. Cooper, 74, of 714 Reed St., died Wednesday afternoon (March 18) at her home of an apparent heart condition.

The daughter of Isaac and Rose A. Lower Tribby, Mrs. Cooper was born at Axtell, Kan., on April 13, 1895. While a young girl her family moved to Enid, Okla., and she attended school there.

In 1914 she came to Grinnell to make her home and on Aug. 31, 1920, she was married to Claire N. Cooper in Grinnell. To this marriage were born three children--Mrs. Floyd (Harriette Leota) Hauersperger of Grinnell, Miss Lillian Cooper of Iowa City; and Kenneth E. Cooper of West Branch, Iowa.

Mrs. Cooper was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Grinnell and was an active lay leader in her church. She was employed at the Grinnell Shoe Company for a time and also at the Midwest Metal Stamping Company in Kellogg.

Survivors include her three children; and six grandchildren--Mrs. William (Brenda Jo) Farrell of Grinnell, David Floyd Hauersperger of Des Moines, and Gregory, Mark, Michelle, and Todd Cooper all of West Branch, Iowa.

Mrs. Cooper was preceded in death by her husband, Claire, on July 4, 1944; her parents; one grandson, Kenneth Wayne Cooper, and her brother, Larry E. Tribby.

Funeral services for Mrs. Eva E. Cooper will be held 2 p.m. Saturday (March 21) at the Smith Funeral Home with the Rev. Luther A. May, pastor of the Seventh Day Adventist church in Grinnell, officiating.

Burial will be made in Hazelwood Cemetery with Donald Holcomb, Ben Holcomb, Roy Leeper, William Farrell, Richard Pilgrim and Steve White, serving as pallbearers.

Organist will be Mrs. Willard Heffner and vocalist will be Mrs. Luther A. May.

Friends may call at the Smith Funeral Home.

Should friends desire, memorials may be made to the Seventh Day Adventist church.
