ANDREW J. DECKER
Andrew Jackson Decker was born in Findley, Ohio, November 23rd, 1846.
At the age of seven years he came to Poweshiek county with his parents and has resided in the county ever since.
February 21st, 1874 he was married to Miss Jennie Hannon. Seven children were born to them, two of whom have gone before. The other five, with their mother are left to mourn the loss of a kind and loving father and husband.
Funeral services were held at the residence 626 East street Sunday at 1:30 conducted by Rev. W.W. Woodburn.
A quartette composed of Mesdames Case and Woodruff and Messers Davies and Gardner rendered appropriate music.
The pall bearers were Messers Johnson and Joseph Porter, Robert Gray and Joseph Kirkland of Ewart and B.T. Vestal and W.L. Hastings of Grinnell.
Among those from out of town who attended the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. Jas. Decker, Mr. and Mrs. Jas. Hannon of Montezuma, M. Wilson and two daughters of Malcom, Mr. and Mrs. E. Fahrney of Deep River, Mr. and Mrs. J. Markinhapt of What Cheer, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Hannon, Mr. and Mrs. Will Rivers of Newton, Mr. and Mrs. N. Clark and a large number of old friends from Ewart.
