RITES SET FOR GLEN MAY SR.
Glen F. May Sr., 83, of the Senior Home at Montezuma, formerly of Gilman, died Friday evening at Grinnell General Hospital.
Funeral services for Mr. May will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Smith Funeral Home, with the Rev. Fred McDaniel, pastor of the New Sharon Asssembly of God church, officiating. Organist will be Mrs. Kathleen Heffner. Pallbearers will be Roger Mason Jr., Chris May, Curt May, Kenneth Sutten, Michael Sutten, and Tom Thompson.
Burial will be at Prairie View Cemetery, Gilman. Should friends desire, memorials in Mr. May's name may be made to his family.
The son of Frank and Nellie Feltis May, he was born April 1, 1893, in Caldwell county, Mo. He attended rural schools near his home. On Jan. 14, 1914, he was married to Bertha Cook. Following their marriage, Mr. and Mrs. May lived in the Gilman and Newburg areas where he worked on farms. He was also employed at the Vosburg Lumber Co. at Gilman, the Maytag Co. at Newton, and the Central Iowa Produce Co. at Marshalltown.
Survivors include his children, Roy May and Glen L. May of Newburg, Delbert May of Lovelock, Nev., Mrs. Alden (Evelyn) Briggs of Columbia, S.C., Mrs. Roger (Bonnie) Mason of Marshalltown, and Dean May of Montezuma; 17 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife; his parents; two daughters, Mrs. Carol Lee and Mrs. Kenneth (Nellie) Sutten; a granddaughter; a great-grandson; three brothers and a sister.
