OLD RESIDENT CLOSES A WELL SPENT LIFE
Madison Lee, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Lee, was born in Perkinsville, Ind., April 16, 1851, and passed away at his home in Grinnell Tuesday, Nov. 18, 1924, aged 73 years, 7 months and two days.
On Nov. 2, 1863 he was married to Emma Werking. Mr. and Mrs. Lee came to Iowa in 1882 and to Grinnell in 1899. To this union were born four children, J.W. Lee, Ottumwa; C.J. Lee, Williamsburg; Frank M. Lee, Colorado Springs, Colo.; and Mrs. Jasper Richeson, Grinnell. All were present for the funeral. Two sisters were also left. They are: Mrs. Foland of Grinnell and Mrs. Coy of Andersonville, Ind.
Funeral services were held Wednesday morning at 10:30 o'clock from the home at 1316 Spencer street. They were conducted by Rev. W.J. Todd of the Methodist church. Burial was made in the Williamsburg cemetery.
