M. BLOW
The people of Grinnell were surprised and pained to learn last week of the death of Mr. *M. Blow, who died at Bellingham, Minn., of pneumonia, after only a few days illness. Mr. Blow was a man of sterling christian character, very highly esteemed by all who knew him, always ready to help in time of need, and will be much missed by a large circle of friends.
He was born at Woodstock, Ont., Canada, Sept. 25, 1833. In 1856 he was married to Violet Naysmith and in the early sixties the family moved to Kane Co., Illinois. Some years later they moved to Iowa and Mrs. Blow died in Grinnell, June 28, 1895. Ten children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Blow, all of whom are still living and eight of whom saw their father before he died. Their children are now living in several states. Mr. Blow died Feb. 12, 1904, aged seventy years and 4 months. Funeral services occurred at Bellingham last Sunday and brief services were held last Tuesday in Grinnell at the Baptist church, conducted by the Rev. S. Rowland Robinson. For many years Mr. Blow was a useful and loyal member of the church, and it can be truly said of him, "Blessed are the dead, who died in the Lord, for they rest from their labors and their works do follow them."
