WADE HAMOR

Wade Hamor, 92, of Lincoln, Neb., formerly of Grinnell, died Sunday, June 27, 2010, at his home.

A memorial service was held Thursday, July 1, at Vine Congregational United Church of Christ in Lincoln with the Rev. Renae Hoehler officiating. His body was donated to the Nebraska Anatomical Board.

He was born July 30, 1917, in Grinnell, the son of Jesse A. and Agusta Helm Hamor. He was a biologist with the United States Department of Agriculture. He served with the United States Army during World War II, receiving the Purple Heart. He was a member of Vine Congregational United Church of Christ, American Legion Post #3, American Association of Retired Persons, Retired Officers Association, Soil Conservation Society, Organization of Professional Employees of the Department of Agriculture and past member of the Wildlife Society and the American Association for the Advancement of Science.

He is survived by his wife Peg, a daughter Trudy Lynne Hamor and his brothers, Clarence Hamor of Inverness, Fla., and Paul Hamor of Grinnell. He was preceded in death by his parents.
