KATHERINE BROCK

Katherine J. Brock, 83, of Urbandale, formerly of Grinnell, died of heart failure Sunday, March 31, at her home.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. The body was cremated. Burial of the ashes will be at Hazelwood Cemetery. The Caldwell-Raddatz Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.

A native of Eau Claire, Wis., she was a long-time resident of Grinnell. She was married to Dr. Atwood Brock, a long-time Grinnell dentist.

She lived in Ft. Myers, Fla., before moving to Urbandale a year ago.

Mrs. Brock was a member of the United Church of Christ-Congregational, the PEO, the Priscilla Club and the Grinnell Country Club.

She is survived by a son, Fritz of *Allerton, Pa.; a daughter, Betsy Marker of Urbandale; one sister, Elizabeth Newhall of Pinehurst, N.C.; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband.

Memorial contributions may be made to Intrust Hospice or the Animal Rescue League, both in Des Moines.

KATHERINE BROCK

Katherine "Keithie" Brock, 83, of Urbandale, formerly of Grinnell, died March 31 at Bickford Cottage in Urbandale.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 27, at Hazelwood Cemetery, with the Rev. Susan Leathem, associate pastor of the Grinnell United Church of Christ-Congregational, officiating. The Smith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

The daugher of Fred and Mary Hansen, she was born July 26, 1918, in Eau Claire, Wis.

She was married to Dr. Atwood W. Brock Oct. 21, 1939, in Eau Claire. They lived in Grinnell, retiring in 1973 and moving to Ft. Myers, Fla., in 1985. Following her husband's death in 2000, Mrs. Brock moved to Urbandale.

She was a member of the United Church of Christ-Congregational, Chapter JB of PEO, the Grinnell Country Club and the Priscilla Club.

Surviving are one son, Fritz of Allentown, Pa.; one daughter, Betsy Marker of Urbandale; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and her twin sister Elizabeth Newhall of Pinehurst, N.C.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
