JOHN C. HIMSCHOOT

John C. Himschoot, son of Peter and Marie Himschoot, was born on a farm southeast of Victor July 9, 1898. He received his education in rural schools.

His parents moved to a farm near Brooklyn in 1904 and he had lived on a farm in the Brooklyn community all his life. He was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic church in Brooklyn.

"Jack" had spent the winter months in Florida. His health had been failing for several years, and he came home March 1 before entering a hospital in Rochester, Minn. Later he came to Waterloo to be with a sister, and then entered a Waterloo hospital, where he died two weeks later, April 22, at the age of 69.

He is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Sadie Boren of Waterloo, and Mrs. Mary Dunton of Phoenix, Ariz., four brothers, August of Ft. Myers, Fla., Adolph of Buckingham, Harry of Ash Flat, Ark., and Marvin of Brooklyn.

Funeral services were held from St. Patrick's church in Brooklyn April 25 at 10 a.m. with the Rev. John T. Kennedy officiating. Burial was in Calvary cemetery at Victor beside his parents.

Casket bearers were nephews: Robert Himschoot, Donald DeWitte, Gerald Boren, Dean Himschoot, Robert DeWitte and Bernard DeWitte.

Honorary casket bearers were Clarence Cram, Harvey Jones, Howard Olson, Glenn Connell, Cleo Korns and Edward Van De Voorde.

Flowers were cared for by Mr. and Mrs. Joe Roth and Mr. and Mrs. August Van Renterghem.
