MADE HOME IN COUNTY MANY YEARS

Charles Hughes Jones was born April 10, 1854 at Jefferson, O., and departed this life May 18, 1927, at the Community Hospital in Grinnell after a few days of illness of meningitis. He was the second son of P.V. and Lavinia Burton Jones.

He came to Iowa with his parents in 1865 at eleven years of age and has resided in this county continuously since. He is survived by six brothers and one *sister: Marcus E. Jones of Claremont, California; Edward P. and Lucien C. Jones of Pasadena, California; Burton H. of Portland, Oregon; Lynds Jones, Oberlin, Ohio; Arthur J. of Swarthmore, Pennslvania. Two uncles: P.D. Burton of Grinnell, and Theodore E. Burton of Cleveland, Ohio, also survive, besides a host of other relatives, neighbors, and friends.

Funeral services were held Friday afternoon from the Congregational church conducted by Rev. E.F. Bosworth. Burial was in Hazelwood cemetery.
