DEATH COMES SUDDENLY TO W.B. PETTIT

Death in the passing of a second came to W.B. Pettit yesterday afternoon. Stricken with heart failure just as he was starting to begin his work after the noon recess, he was dead before help could reach him. He was engaged in moving the old Laros residence east across the alley from its former location immediately east of the factory and had seemed in his usual health.

Mr. Pettit was born September 4, 1842, in Ohio. During the period of his residence in Grinnell he had shown himself a hard working, reliable man. He is mourned by a widow, three sons and two daughters. The family made their home in the Carter row on State street.

Arrangements for the funeral have not been fully completed, but it will probably be held on Sunday.
