MRS. LIZZIE WRIGHT ROBY PASSES AWAY IN NEW HAMPSHIRE

Word has reached Grinnell of the death of Mrs. Lizzie Wright Roby, widow of the late W. Scott Roby of this city, who passed away Jan. 6 in Nashua, N.H. Mrs. Roby was born in New England on June 26, 1853 and came to Grinnell in 1889 as the bride of Mr. Roby. Her father bought the property at 822 East Street where Mr. and Mrs. Roby made their home for many years. Mr. and Mrs. Wright both died in this home and Mrs. Roby continued to make her home there until the death of Mr. Roby on Nov. 23, 1917. Since that time she has spent most of her time in the east.

Mrs. Roby was prominent in club activities in Grinnell during her residence here. Before Grinnell had a D.A.R. Chapter she was a member of Spinning Wheel Chapter in Marshalltown. She belonged to the Priscilla club and was a charter member of Chapter BM, P.E.O. After moving east she was a member of Chapter A in Massachusetts.

She maintained a hospitable home n Grinnell, always open to various groups, and is remembered as one who was loyal to her friendships and to her club affiliations.
