OBITUARY

AGNES CHRISTIANA LANG

Agnes Christiana Graham, daughter of Brownlie and Dora Hayes Graham, was born on a farm near Brooklyn, April 22, 1900, and passed away at Skiff Memorial Hospital, Newton, Aug. 23, 1958. Her age was 58 years, four months and one day. Involved in an automobile accident on last Saturday evening, Agnes lived a short time and her husband, J. Russell Lang, is in the hospital at Newton from the injuries.

Agnes and Russell were married at the Madison Church of Christ by W.B. Wilson on July 31, 1918, and recently celebrated their 40th wedding anniverary. They are the parents of seven children. Mr. and Mrs. Lang and family have worked together in all their interests in life; in the home, community and the church. She attended the State Tachers College at Cedar Falls, and taught school for a brief period.

On August 16, 1911, Agnes was baptized by the Madison Minister, Oscar Grimes. She had been an ardent Christian and worked faithfully for the church. She was loved by her family and respected by her many friends. Her activities included community interests and she was a member of the Band Boosters, when her children were in the public school.

The Russell Lang family moved from Madison township to Grinnell in 1933 and this had since been their home. She was preceded in death by hre father, Brownlie Graham, and one brother, Paul.
