OBITUARY OF MRS. OTTO GARRETT

Mary Alice Lewis was born near Gilman in Marshall county, June 21, 1875, and died Tuesday morning at 4:15, July 19, after a severe illness, fifty-six years of age. She was united in marriage to Otto Garrett, Jan. 21, 1915, in Grinnell. She had one son. There were also three step-children, Everett of California, Albert of Chicago and Ralph of California, who is here at present. Surviving her is her husband and son, her mother, Mrs. Jane Lewis of this city, three brothers, Will of Kansas, Fred of Fort Dodge, and Ray Lewis of Grinnell, also a half-brother and sister.

Mrs. Garrett was a loving wife and mother, a good neighbor, always interested in her home, where she will be greatly missed. She was a patient sufferer during her severe illness. The funeral services were held in the Friends church Thursday afternoon at 2:30, conducted by Rev. Robert Lincoln. Three numbers, "Near My God To Thee," "The Old Rugged Cross" and "Rock Of Ages" were sung by Mr. and Mrs. George Richards. Burial was at Blue Point.
