MRS. LOUISE MEYERS DIES IN LOUISIANA

Mrs. Louise A. Meyers, 85, died Wednesday afternoon, July 3, at Bogalusa, La. Although Grinnell was her home for most of her life, she had gone to Bogalusa four years ago to be near her son.

The daughter of John and Fannie Little Alvord, Mrs. Meyers was born at Battle Creek, Mich., on Dec. 5, 1882. She attended Grinnell College for a few years.

On Oct. 9, 1906, she was married to Paul P. Meyers at Battle Creek, Mich. Mr. Meyers was associated with the electrical utilities and was in charge of the Iowa Southern Utilities services in Grinnell for a number of years. He preceded Mrs. Meyers in death on Sept. 18, 1955.

Mrs. Meyers was active in Congregational church affairs, was a Past President of the Community Hospital Board, and was a member of Chapter BM of the P.E.O. sisterhood and the Entre Nous club.

Survivors include her son, David A. Meyers of Bogalusa, La.

Mrs. Meyers was preceded in death by her husband and a granddaughter, Patricia Louise Meyers, in 1946.

Funeral services for Mrs. Meyers were held at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 6, at the United Church of Christ (Congregational) with the Rev. Ralph Beebe, of the Mayflower Home, officiating.

Organist was Mrs. Willard Heffner. Pallbearers were Carl Child, Robert Kinsey, Robert Mitchell, F.W. Tomasek, Louis Phelps and Harold Simmons.

Burial was in Hazelwood cemetery with Smith Funeral Home in charge.
