HENRIETTA GILMAN HOLYOKE

This afternoon at four o'clock at the residence of Mr. J.P. Lyman occurs the funeral service of Mrs. Henrietta Little Holyoke who died Sunday, July 19, 1903.

Henrietta Gilman Little was the youngest daughter of Henry Gilman and Fidelia Stoddard Little; she was born in Kewanee, Illinois, February 6, 1857. The greater part of her life was passed in Grinnell where she has always had many friends. To most of them the mention of her name will at once recall her especial gift of a beautiful voice, a voice with a peculiarly sympathetic quality and a strain of appealing pathos which rarely failed to touch the listener's heart as she sang. Miss Little was married in 1878 to William P. Holyoke, the oldest son of Dr. Thomas Holyoke, one of the honored founders of the town of Grinnell. One son, Thomas Stoddard Holyoke, of Grinnell, survives. The interment will be in our beautiful Hazelwood cemetery.
