Floyd Tish buried Saturday

Funeral services for Floyd Tish, a long time area farmer, were conducted by the Rev. Larry Pauley of the Keswick Methodist Church and the Rev. Rob Houts of the Deep River Community Church Saturday afternoon, June 15, at Watts Funeral Home. Music was provided by Janice Grimm.

Casket bearers were Keith Fisch, Edgar Miller, Frank Wheeler, Mark McCullough, Allan McCullough and Steven McCullough. Honorary bearers were Jack James, Warren Fisch, Raymond Merck, Arthur Merck, Ronald Grimm and William J. Moore. Burial was at West Liberty Cemetery.

Mr. Tish, 83, died Wednesday, June 12, at the Senior Home here.

The son of John and Selah Reeves Tish, he was born Aug. 13, 1901, in Poweshiek County. On Feb. 10, 1926, he was married to Elnora Caudle at the Methodist parsonage in Montezuma. They had two daughters and three sons. They farmed in Poweshiek, Iowa and Keokuk counties. For the past 50 years they farmed southeast of Deep River.

He is survived by his wife, Elnora, and their family, Marvin and Verla Tish of Gibson, Lois and Junior Gay of Rose Hill, Keith and Janice Tish of Deep River, Arlo and Pat Tish of Deep River and Helen and Roger Edmundson of Keswick: 15 grandchildren, Dennis Tish, Douglas Tish, Diane Lamb, Dan Tish, Edwin Gay, Debbie Green, Neisha Lawson, Vicki Crosser, Brenda Smothers, Marcy Tish, Gene Tish, Angie Tish, Jeff Edmundson, Chris Edmundon and Scott Edmundson; two great-grandchildren, Kelly Green and Kari Lynn Smothers; two brothers, Clayton Tish of Deep River and Kenneth Tish of Brooklyn; two sisters, Eva Snook and Gladys Burggraaf, both of Deep River.

He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, Chester, Warren, Clair and Alfred; and two sisters, Sylvia Thompson and Cecile Snider.
