MR. THOMPSON SERVICES HELD

Ralph C. Thompson, 84, of Clarkridge, Ark., formerly of Grinnell, died Sunday, Sept. 4, at Baxter Regional Hospital, Mountain Home, Ark.

Graveside services were conducted at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Hazelwood Cemetery, with the Rev. John Epperson of the Grinnell Christian Church officiating. Pallbearers were David Allen, Jerry Davis, James Ent, Arthur Fleener, Ronald McKeag and Martin Wright.

He was the son of Charles Henry and Nannie Kusick Thompson and was born Aug. 9, 1904, at Lincoln, Ill. He moved with his family to Missouri where he attended school.

He was married to Vesta Wright in 1924, and she died in 1952. He was then married to Marjorie Fleener in 1953, and the couple farmed near Grinnell. Mr. Thompson also worked for Iowa Southern Unilities Co. for 18 years. He was a member of the Sonora Grange and the Grinnell Elks Lodge.

Surviving are his wife, Marjorie; a daughter, Darla Davis of Wichita, Kan.; two stepchildren, Louis Fleener of Eldora and Linda Ulmer of Clarkridge; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two brothers, Dean of Grinnell and Marion of Cedar Rapids; and three sisters, Lota Dee of Traer, Dorothy Davis of Montour and Bervol Walton of Toledo.

He was preceded in death by his first wife; his parents; and one brother, Cecil.
