ALTA SCHNEEKLOTH RITES HELD

Funeral services for Alta L. Schneekloth, 88, of Marengo, a former Grinnell resident, were conducted June 14 at the First Presbyterian Church in Marengo.

Mrs. Schneekloth died June 12 at a Marengo nursing home of complications resulting from a stroke.

Burial was in Marengo Cemetery.

Born Sept. 30, 1895, she lived in Chicago before moving to Grinnell where she graduaed from high school. She was married to Walter Schneekloth on May 29, 1918, here, and the couple lived in the Grinnell area until 1938 when they moved to the Marengo area.

Survivors include two sons, John of Newhall and Lowell of Marengo; one brother, Harvey Jensen of Grinnell; six grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband; one son, Paul; her parents; two brothers and one sister.
