OBITUARY OF MRS. JOHN H. POOTS

Elizabeth Jane Heacock, daughter of Alfred and Sarah Heacock, was born near Grinnell, Iowa, in the Sugar Creek community May 31, 1883, and departed this life at the Community hospital in Grinnell, Iowa, at 6 p.m. May 17, 1934. She was 50 years, 11 months and 17 days of age.

She grew to womanhood and received her education in the rural schools in the Sugar Creek neighborhood, having later attended Penn Academy at Oskaloosa, Iowa, to further her education.

On Sept. 5, 1906, she was united in marriage with John H. Poots. To this union three children were born: Floyd John who died in infancy, Raymond and Margaret, both of Grinnell, Ia., who with the husband are left to mourn her loss.

She was a birthright member of the Friends church and accepted Christ as her personal Saviour while just a small girl. To this faith she remained true throughout her entire life. During the last few days she again declared her willingness for the Lord's will to be done in her.

For many years she has had poor health, while during the last five years she has been almost a constant sufferer.

In her home she was ever a loving and kind wife and mother, with the welfare of her family always at heart.

Her father and mother, four sisters and one brother preceded her in death.

Besides her immediate family, three brothers, Orla of Twin Falls, Idaho; Arthur of Oskaloosa, Ia.; Ollie of Green Bay, Wis., and two sisters Mabel Wilson and Ella Marshall, both of Grinnell, with a host of other relatives and friends survive.

Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Sugar Creek Friends church, conducted by Rev. Mr. Hadley of the Oak Grove church and Rev. Mr. Thompson of New Sharon.
