DIED.

A.W. Heacock passed away on Sunday afternoon on his Rock Creek farm, where he had been spending the winter, aged 66 years, 8 months and one day, of paralysis, following several months of ill health. The funeral will be held on Wednesday at 11 a.m. from the Sugar Creek church, conducted by Rev. Viola Smith. Interment will be at Sugar Creek. Mr. Heacock lived for a long time on his Rock Creek farm and a few years ago retired from active farming and moved into Grinnell, making his home at 1127 Hamilton Ave. He is survived by a wife and several children. He was a man of strong character, honest, reliable and friendly. He will be missed in the wide circle of his friends.

OBITUARY

ALFRED W. HEACOCK

Alfred W. Heacock was the eldest son of Salathies (Salathias) and Anna Weeks Heacock. He was born in Henry County, Indiana, August 8th, 1844. He was united in marriage with Sarah E. DeBord September 8, 1869. To this union were born eleven children, eight of whom survive him. His wife and all the children were at his bedside during his last illness except one son, Orla, of James, South Dakota, who could not get here in time, his death coming very suddenly. He was a loving husband and father, dearly beloved by his family in return. He was always ready to contribute for the fork of his master. Before his death he gave his testimony that he was ready to meet his Lord. He will be greatly missed by his family, his friends and the Friends church of which he was a faithful member.
