We received the following obituary from Mrs. I.N. McCue of Fort Morgan, Col., concerning the demise of James Dusty Hillman who was born this vicinity in 1857, and may be recalled by some of our oldest citizens:

James Dusty Hillman was born at Deep River, Iowa, Sept. 25, *1857, and fell asleep Sept. 5, 1921. He was the son of George and Mary Hillman and grew to manhood in Iowa. In 1881 he came to Ashland. Here he was united in marriage with Elvira Russell, Feb. 25, 1885. To this union two children were born, the first dying in infancy. The second, Geo. ?, is now residing in Chicago, who with the widow survive him together with an only sister, Mrs. I.N. McCue of Ft. Morgan, Col. Shortly after his marriage he united with the Church of Christ and lived a consistent christian life until called to the church above. His death occurred in Kansas City, where he and Mrs. Hillman had resided for a number of years. His illness covered a period of about one month. Besides his immediate family he leaves a number of relatives in Nebraska and Iowa. Interment was made at Cedar Hill cemetery, Ashland, Neb., Sept. 8, Rev. J.B. Cooperidge of the M.E. church conducting the sad rites.
