MRS. J.F. TALBOTT

(From the Brooklyn Chronicle)

After a long illness, Mrs. John F. Talbott, wife of Judge J.F. Talbott passed away Sunday morning. Mrs. Talbott has been closely associated with Brooklyn's history for many years past and is widely known. Her marriage to Judge Talbott was the first wedding ceremony solemnized from the Brooklyn Episcopal church. The funeral services were held in the Episcopal church Wednesday, many people from out of town joining the many Brooklyn friends in paying the last loving tribute to the deceased.

The following representatives from the several bar associations of this district attended the funeral: Judge K.E. Wilcockson and D.W. Hamilton of Sigourney, Judges Henry Silwold and W.G. Clements, and Henry C. Korf, O.P. Myers and E.M.S. McLaughlin of Newton, J.H.P. Robison of Grinnell, and T.A. Lane of Victor. A number of lawyers from Oskaloosa planned to be in attendance but were unable, because of late trains, to make the connections. The bar associations of Jasper and Mahaska counties sent magnificent flora emblems.

Others from out of town who were present at the funeral were A.D. Talbott, Dr. E.F. Talbott, Geo. H. McMurray, H.F. Lanphere, Mrs. J.H.P. Robison, Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Korns of Grinnell, Amos Matthews of Cherokee, Mrs. Henry Holmes of Perry, Mrs. A.H. Palmer and Miss Grace Brown of Omaha, sisters of Mrs. Talbott and Mrs. F.W. Schmitz of Townsend, Mont., Mrs. Talbott's youngest daughter.
