FUNERAL SERVICES ON SATURDAY FOR MOUDESTA TALBOTT

Funeral services for Mrs. Moudesta E. Talbott, 77, Grinnell, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Smith Funeral Home. Mrs. Talbott died Wednesday morning at a local hospital where she had been a patient the past two months.

Officiating at the services will be the Rev. Hillow Griswald of Newton. Burial will be at Hazelwood cemetery.

She was the daughter of Nathan Clayton and Martha Ellen Brant Gould and was born in Johnson County, Iowa, on July 7th, 1882. She received her early education near her home at a rural school and later attended public schools at Iowa City.

On April 7th, 1906, she was united in marriage with Olen Talbott at Brooklyn. To this union were born two children: Mrs. Howard (Maye Ellen) Mitchell and Asa Clayton Talbott, both of Grinnell.

The family moved to Grinnell from Brooklyn 29 years ago. Shortly after moving to Grinnell, Mrs. Talbott established a nursing home, the first in Poweshiek county, and continued running it until her health failed recently.

She is survived by her son and daughter, five grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1945, and two sisters who died in infancy.
