MRS. FORTUNE RITES TUESDAY

Catherine M. Fortune, 73, a native of Grinenll, died of a heart ailment Thursday, June 2, at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Pontiac, Mich.

Graveside services will be conducted at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday at Hazelwood Cemetery, with the Rev. Harry H. Linnenbrink, pastor of St. Mary's Catholic Church, officiating. Friends may call at the Smith Funeral Home.

The daughter of Edward S. and Catherine Mary McGrath Wisecarver, she was born here on Oct. 10, 1909. She attended Grinnell schools, graduating from Grinnell High School. She received a degree in business administration from Lawrence Technical College in Michigan.

On Dec. 7, 1940, she was married to Francis L. Fortune in Pontiac. For many years she was manager of the fur department and a buyer for Waites Department Store in Pontiac. She was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church in Pontiac.

Mrs. Fortune is survived by her husband and a sister, Bertha Bradish of Des Moines. She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Louis, George and Edward Wisecarver; and a sister Kate Wisecarver.
