MRS. REIDA DIES; SERVICES FRIDAY

Mrs. Tillie R. Reida, 83, widow of Wesley Reida, who lived at 408 High St., died Tuesday evening at *General Hospital. She had been hospitalized the past month and had not been in the best of health recently. The daughter of Henry and Ricke Graff Staecker, Mrs. Reida was born near Hamburg, Germany, on March 3, 1887. At the age of three, her family came to the United States and they farmed in the Sheridan Community north of Grinnell. She attended the rural schools near her family home.

On March 14, 1917, she was married to Wesley Reida at Des Moines.

Mr. and Mrs. Reida farmed near Brooklyn and later made their home in Brooklyn. In 1942, they came to Grinnell to make their home. Mrs. Reida was employed as a cook in several Grinnell restaurants.

Survivors include four children--Amos Reida of Brooklyn; Truman Reida of Lake View, Lydia Reida of Grinnell, and Maurice Seye of Victor; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Reida was preceded in death by her husband, Wesley, in 1950, and four brothers and one sister--August, Henry, John and Charles Staecker and Mrs. Dollie Firkins.

Funeral services for Mrs. Reida will be held 2 p.m. Friday at the Smith Funeral Home with the Rev. J. Eugene Young, minister of the Grinnell United Methodist church, officiating.

Organist will be Mrs. Willard Heffner.

Pallbearers will be James Boatman, Laverne Lidtka, Gene Martinson, Wesley Reida, Gene Staecker, and Truman Staecker.

Flower bearers will be Mrs. Opal Beason, Miss Gerry Slebiska, Miss Wilma Schmitz, and Mrs. Maxine Thompson.

Burial will be made in Ivy Hill Cemetery at Malcom.

Should friends desire, memorials in memory of Mrs. Reida may be left at the Smith Funeral Home.
