Obituary dated March 17, 1932

FUNERAL SERVICES FOR MRS. ALLISON

Funeral services for Mrs. M.A. Allison, who passed away Thursday night at her home on West street, were held Sunday afternoon from the home, conducted by Rev. A.B. Cadwell. A quartet composed of Eddie Peterson, Mrs. A.B. Cadwell, Mrs. Roscoe Dempster and E.L. York, sang "Lead Kindly Light," and "Jesus, Savior, Pilot Me." Pall bearers were W.H. Alley, Warder Stoaks, J.G. Shifflett, Thomas Mason, C.S. George and I.M. Harrington. Interment was in the cemetery in Montezuma, where Mrs. Allison's husband is buried.

Present from out of town to attend the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Charles Wilke of Marshalltown, Dr. and Mrs. F.H. Kisor of Mechanicsville, William H. Kisor of Iowa City and Mrs. Alice Walker of Oskaloosa.

Rev. Mr. Cadwell read the following obituary notice:

Blanche E. Kisor was born at Montezuma, Iowa, Sept. 28, 1858. Dec. 18, 1877, she was united in marriage to Marion A. Allison. Mr. and Mrs. Allison lived on a farm in Deep River township until 19 years ago when they moved to Grinnell. Four children were born to them, all of whom are living, William M. of Winfield, Kans., Emma A. of Grinnell, Mrs. Fred Carpenter of Gloversville, N.Y., and Mrs. Charles Wilke of Marshalltown. She is survived by three brothers, Albert Kisor, living in California, Wm. Kisor, of Iowa City, and Dr. F.H. Kisor of Mechanicsville; and one sister, Mrs. Alice Walker of Oskaloosa.

Mrs. Allison was an active worker in the church near the old home on the farm and since living in Grinnell has been a member of the Methodist Episcopal church here.
