MRS. BEN SWAIN OF BROOKLYN DIES
(From the Brooklyn Chronicle)

Mrs. Ben Swain passed away at her home Tuesday forenoon having succumbed to a stroke. She has been in failing health for some time. Mrs. Swain was 73 years old and has lived in Brooklyn and vicinity all her life. She was the daughter of Otha Harry and was born on a farm near Guernsey. She is survived by her husband, four children, Will of Belle Plaine, Mrs. Claude Keeney and Charles of Brooklyn, and a daughter in Oskaloosa, two brothers, besides other relatives. Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon at the church in charge of Rev. R.G. Nye. Interment was in the I.O.O.F. cemetery.
