LOUISA CARPENTER DIES SUDDENLY TUESDAY MORNING

Mrs. Louisa Park Carpenter, wife of Joseph L. Carpenter of 1216 Main St., died suddenly Tuesday morning at her home.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday from the Smith Funeral Home with the Rev. Leland W. Mann officiating. Music will be provided by Mrs. Rhee Auman.

Pallbearers will be all nephews: Warren Carpenter, Dean Carpenter, Ronald Baltisberger, Wilbur Baltisberger, John Douglas and Leslie Douglas. Burial will be at Hazelwood cemetery.

Mrs. Carpenter was the daughter of Oliver and Caroline Beaton Park and was born on Nov. 9, 1878, at Macon, Neb. Later the family moved to the Grinnell area, and Mrs. Carpenter graduated with the class of 1902 from Grinnell College.

She was married to Joseph Lyman Carpenter on March 17, 1909, at Grinnell, and to this union were born four children: J.David Carpenter of Ottumwa, O.W. Carpenter of Denver, Colo., Donovan Carpenter of Madison, Wis., and Mrs. Daniel (Ruth) Gnau of Phoenix, Ariz.

Surviving are her husband and children and 12 grandchildren and one great grandson. A brother, Hubbard Park of Marina, Calif., also survives.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister.
