MRS. WILLIAM BEATON

Mrs. William Beaton died Christmas night at her home 1216 Main street. The funeral was held at the home Friday afternoon at three o'clock. Miss Ida King of the Christian Science church conducted the service. A quartet, composed of Mrs. A.C. Norris, Mrs. A.E. Johnson, Mr. Fred Morrison and Mr. C.F. Ricker sang two of Mrs. Beaton's favorite hymns--"O'er Waiting Harpstrings of the Mind There Sweeps a Strain," and "Still, Still With Thee When Purple Morning Breaketh."

It was Mrs. Beaton's wish, formed many years ago when a dear friend was cremated, that she have that form of burial. So, following her direction of her step-daughter, Mrs. O.W. Park, and Miss Ada Park, accompanied the body to Des Moines where cremation was performed. The burial will be in Hazelwood beside her husband.

Transcriber Note: WPA Records show dates 11 Nov 1834-30 Dec 1919; Hazelwood Cemetery

Mrs. Beaton had made many warm friends during the years spent here, who greatly appreciated and enjoyed her unusual qualities of mind and heart. To those who knew her intimately her life will ever be an inspiration and sweet memory.

Miss Ada Park had made her home with the grandparents during her school days in Grinnell and since Mr. Beaton's death has been the little grandmother's constant companion, giving her most loving comradeship and untiring devotion.

Margaretta Ella Asay was born in Philadelphia, and was eighty-five years of age.
