RITES HELD FOR MR. GIANCOLA

Richard L. Giancola, 43, of 1837 Sixth Ave., Grinnell, died Sunday morning, April 29. Death was the result of drowning at Arbor Lake, where his body was discovered Monday afternoon.

Graveside services were conducted at 1:30 p.m. today at Hazelwood Cemetery, with the Smith Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

The son of Ralph and Evelyn Carter Giancola, he was born Sept. 7, 1940, at St. Louis, Mo., where he attended school. He had lived in Grinnell since the early 1970s and was employed as a laborer.

Survivors include his parents; one son, Richard of St. Louis; one daughter, Rachael of Des Moines; three brothers, Ralph J. of St. Charles, Mo., Nick J. of Minneapolis, Minn., and Dennis M. of Des Moines; and two sisters, Linda Giancola of Dana Point, Calif., and Laura Loucks of Newton.
