LYNNVILLE RITES ON FRIDAY FOR THOMAS EVANS, 85

LYNNVILLE (Special) -- Thomas Edward Evans, 85, a life-time resident of the Searsboro and Lynnville areas, died Wednesday morning at an Oskaloosa nursing home where he had been a patient the past two years.

Mr. Evans had resided on a farm near Searsboro, all of his life until moving to Lynnville about 15 years ago.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday from the Lynnville Friends church with the Rev. Peter Shuler officiating. Vocal music will be provided by Homer McDowell, accompanied by Mrs. Howard Macy.

Serving as pallbearers will be Walter Schultz, Clifford Baker, Harold F. Macy, Vern Appleton, Fred Johnson and Leo Evans. Burial will be in Blue Point cemetery.

The son of James D. and Eliza Farmer Evans, he was born near Searsboro on Dec. 7th, *1880.

He is survived by two sons, Ralph of Lynnville and Rex of Des Moines; and two daughters, Mrs. Raymond (Jessie) Mitchell of rural Grinnell and Mrs. Rollo (Bessie) Brignon of New Sharon.
