Funeral services for Mrs. Harry Humphrey were held March 14th at 2 o'clock at the First Presbyterian Church in Malcom in charge of R.B Potter, pastor.

Mrs. Nell Farley and Mrs. Virgil Sherwood sang "The Lord Is My Shepherd" accompanied at the piano by Mrs. Lenora Barnes. Casket bearers were Marshall Bell, Carl Hinegardner, Julian Hoen, Ronald Hoen, Harold Hinegardner and Nelson McDonald. Burial was in Ivy Hill cemetery in Malcom.

Elizabeth Viola Hinegardner, daughter of Jacob and Lydia Angelina Bowman Hinegardner, was born March 11, 1878 at Rockingham, Va. Her death occurred Tuesday, March 10th, 1953 at the Community hospital in Grinnell, Iowa following a short illness.

When she was only a year old the family moved to a farm west of Brooklyn.

As a baby Mrs. Humphrey was baptized by the Rev. Benedict in the Lutheran Church at Rockingham, Va.

On January 16, 1903 she married Harry G. Humphrey of Malcom, Iowa.

She joined the Presbyterian Church in Malcom after her marriage where her children were baptized.

They began their married life in Malcom where Mrs. Humphrey spent the rest of her life.

In addition to her husband she is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Alice Hoen of Milwaukee; two sons James Melvin of Aurora, Colo., and William Alvin of Newton, Iowa. One daughter, Mrs. Harriett Gladys Bell, preceded her mother in death.

Mrs. Humphrey is also survived by one sister Mrs. Clara Woomer of Grinnell, and one brother, John Hinegardner of Malcom. She also leaves several nieces, nephews, four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
