WILMA DECK RITES FRIDAY

Mrs. Wilma L. Deck, 71, of 515 Fourth Ave., Grinnell, died Monday morning at Grinnell General Hospital where she had been a patient for the past 18 days.

Funeral services for Mrs. Deck will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Smith Funeral Home, with the Rev. Daniel Ogata, pastor of the First United Presbyterian Church, officiating. Organist will be Kathleen Heffner. Pallbearers will be Marvin Emmert, Don Hudnutt, Robert Hunter, Gene Slaven, Kenneth Smith, and Bernard Young.

Burial will be at Hazelwood Cemetery.

The daughter of Guy and Bessie Mullins Curtis, she was born Dec. 23, 1905, in Grinnell. She attended school here.

On Aug. 28, 1920, she was married to Ralph M. Deck at Newton. The couple lived in Grinnell for 10 years while Mr. Deck was parts manager for the Ford garage. They lived in Ft. Dodge from 1930 until 1950, returning to Grinnell to operate a restaurant.

Following her husband's death on Dec. 30, 1964, Mrs. Deck continued to live in Grinnell.

Survivors include her son, Jack E. Deck of Manchester, Mo.; two grandsons, two brothers, Raymond W. Curtis of Oklahoma City, Okla.; and Paul Curtis of Denver, Colo.; and four sisters, Mrs. Grace Woods of Green Bay, Wis., Mrs. Claude (Mable) Pickering of Grinnell, Mrs. George (Lois) Emmert of Littleton, Colo., and Mrs. Doris Oliver of Grinnell.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a brother, Faye Curtis; and a sister, Mrs. Ruth Mattingly.
