FUNERAL OF ALEXANDER HUNTER THIS MORNING

Alexander Hunter was born in County Antrim, Ireland, in the year 1860. When 21 years of age he was married to Elizabeth Elliot and soon after founded the new home home in Gilman, Iowa.

There were born to the parents in this home four sons and one daughter. They are James of Moline, Illinois; Alexander and Allen of Grinnell; Robert John of San Bernardino, Calif., and Jennie Demory of Marshalltown. The mother died in 1890.

For the last fifteen years Mr. Hunter has made his home in Grinnell. Here he was employed by the Grinnell Public Schools and by his industry, courtesy and pleasant manner won the respect of patrons and pupils.

After a brief illness he died at a local hospital Saturday evening, June 22, in his seventy-fifth year.

Funeral services, conducted by the Rev. W.J. Stewart were held at the home of his son Allen, at 323 Broad street, this morning at ten o'clock. A group of friends and relatives gathered at the cemetery in Cedar Rapids where the body was laid to rest in the family lot this afternoon.
