JOINT FUNERAL RITES TODAY FOR MONTEZUMA COUPLE

Joint funeral services were held this afternoon (Thursday) at Montezuma for Mr. and Mrs. Harold Moore of that community.

Mrs. Moore died suddenly late Monday at a Grinnell hospital and her husband succumbed a few hours later of carbon monoxide poisoning in the garage at the family home.

Upon being informed of his wife's death late Monday, Moore told neighbors he wanted to be left alone. At about 7 a.m. Tuesday a neighbor, Harold Swanson went to the Moore home, found the doors all locked from the inside. He and his wife then forced open the garage door and found Moore's body on the floor.

Sheriff William Welsh and Medical Examiner Dr. Thomas Brobyn were summoned and death was pronounced as self-inflicted.

Officiating at the joint services were the Revs. George Snyder and G.E. Dieken. Vocal music was provided by Mrs. Vincent Johnson, accompanied by Miss Alice Underwood. Interment was in the Masonic IOOF cemetery.
