MIKYLA JANE EHRET

Mikyla Ehret, 17, of Deep River died Monday, Oct. 20, 2008.

Funeral services will be Friday, Oct. 24, at 10:30 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church in Montezuma with the Rev. George Salnave officiating. Visitation is scheduled for Thursday beginning at 12 p.m. with the family present 4 to 8 p.m. at the Holland-Coble Funeral Home in Montezuma. Burial will be at the Jackson Township Cemetery in Montezuma. Memorial contributions may be made to the Tri-County FFA. Mikyla Jane Ehret, daughter of Darrin and Marla "Molly" Eakins Ehret, was born Oct. 30, 1990, in Iowa City. She was a senior at Tri-County High School where she was active in volleyball, golf, band, and drama. Mikyla excelled in FFA where she was the 2008-2009 Tri-County FFA Chapter president, and 2007-2008 sentinel. She attended the FFA Leadership Conference in Washington D.C. and was selected three consecutive years as a FFA Usher at the Iowa State Fair. Mikyla enjoyed camping with her family, working on the farm and with her animals, playing with her brothers, and spending time with family and friends.

Her memory will be cherished by her parents, Darrin and Molly Ehret; her three brothers: Dustin, Dalton and Dillon; grandparents Ed and Mary Eakins, Marlys and Lyle Tinkle, Leslie and Darryl Nuehring and Wayne and Juanita Ehret; great grandparents, Colleen Allen, Paul Robbins, Shirley Eakins and Verlan and Iva Tinkle. She also will be remembered by many cousins and friends, and her boyfriend, Allen Scholten.

She was preceded in death by great grandparents Robert Eakins, Lorraine Robbins, Raymond Ehret, Don Allen, and Mildred Ehret.
