SERVICES DELAYED UNTIL TODAY FOR FLOYD R. PUGH

Funeral services for Floyd R. Pugh of Grinnell, originally scheduled for last Saturday but delayed due to weather conditions, were held this afternoon (Monday) from the Smith Funeral Home with the Rev. C.E. Kingsley officiating.

Organist was Ed Bohstedt and flower bearers were Miss Aletha McNeal and Mrs. Floyd State. Pallbearers were Worth Belden, L.W. Brock, Orrie Haag, Merton Johnson, John Hotchkin, and Ed Speth.

Burial was at Ivy Hill cemetery in Malcom with the American Legion Post No. 53, headed by Charles Ziegenmeyer, conducting graveside services.

Mr. Pugh died March 4th following a lingering illness. He was born the son of Charles and Mary Dunlap Pugh on Dec. 15, 1888, at Grinnell, where he lived most of his life except for a period when he served with the Army during World War I.

On June 26, 1918, he was united in marriage with Lillian Appleby in Grinnell. To this union were born five children: Mrs. Paul (Erma) Herrold of Grinnell; Floyd J. of Spokane, Wash.; Foster C. of Montezuma; Mrs. John (Mary Ann) Harbin of Macon, Ga.; and Carl E. with the Navy in Korea.

Also surviving are his wife, Lillian and his mother, Mrs. Mary E. Hill, both at home in Grinnell. His father preceded him in death.

Mr. Pugh was a well-known rural mail carrier, and a long-time member of the American Legion where he served as bugler for many years.
